This FREE workshop is designed to educate individuals on survival skills as a caregiver during the holidays. You will learn how to better cope with the extra stress the holidays can bring to you as the caregiver and the person you are caring for, as well as how to best communicate with extended family. The workshop will also help you to understand what new behaviors may arise during the holiday season that you’ve not yet had to deal with. The training will be held at South Iredell Senior Center on Wed., Nov. 15 from 2-3:30 p.m. Who should attend . . . staff, volunteers, and family caregivers, in-home care agencies, retirement and assisted living communities, ministerial staff, CNAs, companion sitters, and anyone else working with the aging population. The workshop is being conducted by Julie Cook-Walker, Education Specialist, Foothills Region Alzheimer's Association.
