This workshop will be presented by Cynthia Harmon, Hard of Hearing Services Specialist from the N.C. Division of Services for the Deaf and the Hard of Hearing (DSDHH). Topics covered will include signs of hearing loss, what to do if you or someone you know has these signs, DSDHH services, and strategies for effective communication. There will be a 20 minute video, “Let’s Make It Clear.” Assistive listening devices will be available to help attendees hear the presenter. If additional communication accommodations are needed, please let us know in advance. The program will be held at South Iredell Senior Center on Thurs., Oct. 27 from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. To help accommodate individuals working, a light lunch will be provided at a cost of $1 for those that pre-register by Fri., Oct. 21. Contents will benefit anyone affected by hearing loss, community service providers, personnel and volunteers that work in customer service or with the hearing impaired, such as, caregivers, companion sitters, etc., and anyone interested.
