This nationally recognized day was set to inspire, educate and empower the public and providers about the importance of advance care planning. It is an initiative to encourage patients to express their wishes regarding healthcare and for providers and facilities to respect those wishes, whatever they may be. Catawba Regional Hospice will conduct a FREE workshop on Fri., April 15 from 12-1 p.m. at South Iredell Senior Center in recognition of this day and as a means of educating caregivers and informing professionals working with older adults and the general public about Advance Healthcare Directives. Come learn how to help older adults and their families clearly state through a series of Advance Healthcare Directive forms their medical health care wishes. To accommodate work schedules the educational workshop will be held from 12-1 p.m. and a light lunch will be included. To attend, please RSVP by calling 704-662-3337 by Fri., April 8.
